My husband and I got to show a client of his from India around our town last night. And so of course, we took him to the Steel Stacks at the Artsquest Center.
Our town was once home to Bethlehem Steel (they supplied the steel for the Golden Gate Bridge!) and though the steel factory has long since closed, the old blast furnaces remain. The city is restoring the site and turning it into and arts and entertainment complex. There is all ready two outdoor venues for music, as well as an indoor venue and movie theater. At night the old bast furnaces are lit up in deep purple and are just a site to be seen.
I didn't have my camera on me, but couldn't resist snapping a few shots with my iPhone. Enjoy!
