We had so much fun doing this shoot. I think we laughed more than we worked. These are my five favorites!
I love this family! Jen is one of my best friends and her boys are just completely awesome, so when she asked me to take some photos fro her holiday card, I jumped at the opportunity. Jen is all energy, all the time. Seriously, she barely sleeps, never sits down and is always up for ANYTHING! She rock climbs, skis, hikes, bikes, was on a roller derby team, drinks wine like its water, LOVES food, and laughs more than anyone I know. If you are feeling blue, Jen is the cure, because her positive attitude is infectious. We had so much fun doing this shoot. I think we laughed more than we worked. These are my five favorites!

When you meet Todd Nordstrom, you instantly like him. And once you start talking to him, you realize just how cool this kid is. He's passionate about so many things, all of which have one thing in common: they keep him outdoors and moving!
He's been skiing his entire life, both his parents are National Ski Patrollers at a local ski resort. Having grown up on the snow, he's got some serious skills. I've seen this kid flying off jumps and catching huge air. When it isn't winter, you can find Todd outside on his family farm where he's built the coolest cabin, dubbed the Sugar Shack, pretty much all on his own. It's got heat thanks to a wood stove, bunk beds that fold down from the wall, a huge dining table, and a loft. It's seriously impressive. Oh, and did I mention this kid spent two summers as a real life cowboy in Wyoming? Yeah, when I said this kid was cool, I meant it! Better late then never, right? I shot these fall and Christmas photos over a year ago, and why I didn't post them, I cannot say, as they are adorable! I had the pleasure of shooting Bailey's newborn, 3 months and 6 months photos, and was lucky enough to also photograph Paige over the course of the year as well.
My in-laws own an Orchid business located in Bucks County PA. They grow the orchids year round in the greenhouses located on their farm in Perkasie. They mainly do corporate rentals, to hotels, restaurants, and business that always want a blooming orchid in their lobby, ladies room, or ballrooms. My father in law loves orchids and he grows some of the most beautiful and unique flowers I have ever seen. Stepping into the green house is like being transported to tropical local.
In August of 2015 they provided orchids for a wedding in center city Philadelphia. My mother in law did the arrangements and put so much love into them. My husband and I helped with the delivery effort and of course I took my camera along with me! Yes, you read the date above correct. I shot this wedding almost two years ago and am just not posting my favorites from the day. See my previous post today for all my excuses. This was the first wedding I shot (and the only) and I learned so much that day, like how you should always pack one more memory card than you think you will need, as to avoid frantically deleting all the closed eye shots while the bride is in the ladies room to free up space to shoot the cake cutting! Despite the steep learning curve, I had a fabulous time! I had help from my good friend Jaclyn Marie of JMJ Photography shooting second for me and the Bride, Lindsey, was very laid back and that certainly made it easier! I haven't decided if "wedding photographer" is something I want to add to my resume yet, but if I could be assured that all weddings would be as fun as this one, I might consider it! So I know it's been over a year since I've posted anything to this blog. I don't have any excuse other than 2016 was a crazy year for me both professionally and personally and something had to give and sadly, it was my photography that got waylaid. Oh, I was still using my camera last year, but I wasn't really pushing myself, which is one reason I wasn't posting (besides not being able to find the time). Now that it's a new year, I am recommitting to my passion, and I have to say, it feels WONDERFUL! So, please accept my sincere apologies for my disappearance and I promise to post more often going forward!
