We did the session at Graeme Park in Horhsam PA, a first for me, and I just loved everything about it! Evalyn was the perfect little model (that toothy grin) and the setting is now one of my favorite locations.
One of the best parts of being a photographer is meeting new people, but I also LOVE that it's brought people I've known for a long time and haven't seen in years, back into my life! So when Evalyn's mom, Tiffany, contacted me about a birthday session, I jumped with joy! We did the session at Graeme Park in Horhsam PA, a first for me, and I just loved everything about it! Evalyn was the perfect little model (that toothy grin) and the setting is now one of my favorite locations.

I love photographing big families, partly because I come from one, but also because of all the personalities you get when you photograph them. You have the little kids that are sassy and just too cute, the proud grandparents, the goofy cousins, and the siblings that revert back to their youth when surrounded by so much love.
The Salley Family was no exception. You could tell how much they enjoy each others company and how much they treasure their time together. I’m so happy I was able to capture this family during their vacation in the woods! It was a lot of work, photographing six separate families and the family as a whole, but it was so much fun and I am so thankful they chose me for the task! Where to begin? This couple is the definition of goals. They are so in love and compliment each other so darn well. And they laugh, a lot.
I've known Elayne a very long time as she is one of my sisters best friends. We've been on vacation together and she attended my wedding, so when she told me she was engaged and wanted ME to capture these photos for her, I was thrilled and honored and so excited (I may have cried happy tears)! We had the best time during the shoot. Elayne is a blast to be around and Chris is just as fun. He's a pilot for a commercial airline (so cool) and, in my opinion, has a strong resemblance to a certain Mr. Clooney. The morning was filled with smiling and laughter, just the way it should be! Central Park in the spring is a glorious place! New York winters are bleak, dirty and depressing. It's cold and wet and sometimes there is so much snow they don't know what do do with it all. So when spring finally comes to the city, New Yorkers rejoice! And a day in Central Park is one of the best ways to celebrate the warm weather!
I recently spent the day walking around the park photographing the spring blooms, the park goers, and the animals in Central Park, who despite a morning drizzle were happy for the warmth. Here are a few of my favorite shots from the day! My husband works in NYC and recently, to celebrate the tenth anniversary of our first date, I joined him in the city for a few days. Since he was working during the day, I set out to explore the city on my own. I mostly spilt my time between Times Square, where we were staying, and Central Park, with one quick subway ride down to 12th and Broadway to hit up The Strand Bookstore.
Below are the photos I took while walking around the city, and at the bookstore. I'll post the photos from Central Park separately, since I took so many! Back in March, on the first nice day of spring, I went for a stroll on the Delaware Canal Tow Path and downtown Easton. I took these shots, but just got around to editing this morning!
One of my favorite things about living in the Lehigh Valley is the proximity to both city and country living. Bethlehem and Easton are just minutes from my house, but so are the rivers (Lehigh and Delaware), countless parks, farms, tow paths, mountains and hiking/biking trails. The first set of photos here are from the start of the tow path on the Delaware River. Back in the day, the canal and tow path was used to transport coal and other goods from Philadelphia to Easton using barges and mules. While those are long gone, the canal and tow paths are still there and are excellent for walking, biking or running. The second set of photos were taken the same day inside the Easton Public Market. It's a great little city market and one of my favorite places in the Valley to grab some produce, fish, snacks or lunch. On our second date my husband and I went to the fair (A-Day to be exact) and among other things, watched the pigs race. Not a typical activity for a second date, but ten years later it remains one of my favorite days. We've gone a a few times since then, but felt we needed to go back this year to celebrate the 10th anniversary of that memorable second date!
The A in A-Day stands for activities, though I grew up thinking it meant agriculture. I thought this because A-Day is held at Delaware Valley College, which is an agricultural college in Doylestown Pennsylvania. The fair has bouncy rides, pony rides, face painting and games for the kids and there are rows and rows of craft vendors for the adults. And of course there is food. Lots of food! In addition to all that, the main purpose is for the students of DelVal to showcase various agricultural displays and exhibits. There are equestrian shows, sheep sheering and milking demonstrations, livestock competitions, a tracker parade, and of course the aformentioned pig races (oh yes!). We had a lovely day on a gorgeous Sunday, accompanied by our good friends and their kids. Yesterday was such a great day! It was the first warm and sunny Easter Sunday we've had in a long time and it really made the day so nice! We had a relaxing, laid back brunch at my sisters house, complete with lots of smiles, breakfast pizza and Bloody Marys!
I love this family like they are my own family, because in a lot of ways they are! Erica has been one of my closest friends for the last seventeen years. I was there when she met Sam, when they got married, and when all three of these adorable kids were born. We have shared so many memories together and I am completely honored to be able to capture their family memories for them!
We spent the afternoon in the park, playing in the flowers and enjoying the warm weather. There were smiles, there was laughing, and there was one little girl who got really mad at me for not letting her pick the daffodils! But at the end of the day, we had a great time and I somehow managed to capture this crazy family! I'm a country girl that loves street and urban photography. I love living in the Lehigh Valley for this very reason. I get to live in farm land, but with a quick drive I can be in small cities like Bethlehem, Easton and Allentown or big cities like Philadelphia and New York.
Over the summer my husband and I took a day trip to New York with really no goal in mind other than to walk the city and enjoy the sunshine. It was in the 70s and sunny, the perfect city weather. We started in Battery Park and made our way up to Soho. We had a fantastic day, and we didn't really do anything but walk and talk and take in the sights and sounds of the city. It was one of my favorites days of the summer. |
